Algeria sent Official Application to Join BRICS

African Country Algeria Foreign Ministry has officially sent its application to Join the BRICS Group. At present, BRICS is a group of five countries: China, Russia, India, Brazil, and South Africa.

Recent comments from Middle Eastern countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia and Latin American countries such as Argentina indicate that they are interested in joining the bloc.

The BRICS summit in 2023 will be chaired by South Africa, where the expansion of the bloc will be discussed. Globally, the bloc is considered to have the fastest economic growth. A BRICS country accounts for about 25% of total world output & occupies 26% of world land.
